Bishop James R. Izzard, Jr. is a native of Washington, D.C., raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He and his wife, Tiffaney, have been married for over 30 years and are blessed with four children.

He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in Psychology. He has completed extensive ministerial training and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at the Church of God Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

Bishop Izzard is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN). He serves as a pastoral and leadership coach, equipping church planters and pastors to navigate the demands of ministry and leadership.

After answering the call to preach in 1995, he served in various ministry roles before planting Life Builders Christian Center (LBCC) in 2005 alongside his wife in Upper Marlboro, MD. Under his leadership, the ministry experienced significant growth and developed leaders for service. In 2012, LBCC merged with Harvest Temple Church of God to become Life Builders Church of God (LBCOG), where he served as Senior Pastor, cultivating a culture centered on outreach, restoration, and Biblical literacy.

In 2022, he launched Liberation Church in Clinton, MD, continuing his apostolic assignment to plant churches, raise leaders, and advance the transforming message of the Gospel.

In addition to church leadership, Bishop Izzard provides oversight to multiple churches across Maryland and Washington, D.C. He serves on regional and international committees supporting pastors throughout the United States and Canada. He also serves as a senior executive in the federal government, overseeing operations that contribute to national security.

Above all, Bishop Izzard is devoted to God. His life’s mission is to please the Lord and serve as a vessel for healing, restoration, and transformation through the power of Jesus Christ.
